Kitara’s undercover mission exposes a conspiracy rooted in ancient immortal history and centered on the Fallen: criminals stripped of immortality and rendered powerless after their Fall. Once dismissed as impotent exiles, the Fallen become the linchpin of a new and dangerous design—one that seeks to transform the damned into weapons against the realm that condemned them.
Undercover as a Fallen, Kitara becomes embroiled in the enemy’s scheme, denying Storm the luxury of detached resentment and forcing him to face the woman she is, not the villain he believes her to be. Each truth Kitara reveals fractures the history Storm was raised to trust, exposing the cost of his charmed life and the dangerous lies that redefined something heinous as not just palatable, but necessary.
Together, Kitara and Storm must decipher the dark immortal history shaping both the enemy’s designs and their own pasts—and determine if it can be unmade before it unravels their world.
